What We Collect
- Emails you send us. Your name, email address and whatever you write, used only to read and respond to your message and to improve our reports.
- The write-in tool. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored on our servers. It only reaches us if you email it.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, usually for no more than 30 days.
Legal Basis
We process correspondence on the basis of legitimate interests (answering readers) and server logs on the basis of legitimate interests (keeping the site secure). We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising profiles.
Retention
Emails are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted, unless they are part of an ongoing correction or legal matter.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, object to processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. To exercise these rights, email us.
